As a bride-to-be, I’ve been prodding everyone for beauty advice: what works and more importantly, what doesn’t (like an updo that makes you taller than your groom - awkward), how to ensure your make-up will last from the “I Do” to the dancefloor and whether I should go Rapunzel for the reception (ie. let down my hair.) This section of the website is for beautiful brides - pros, pals and everyone in-between - who are happy to share their big day beauty secrets. Today, meet...
“I’ve been living in Dubai for over ten years now and working as the Fashion & Beauty Director on Cosmopolitan Middle East. Michael and I knew that we wanted to get married in Dubai – it’s guaranteed sunshine after all, plus it gave our family and friends who’d travelled from the UK a great excuse for a holiday.
I wanted to go for an ‘old Hollywood glamour’ look and because my Reem Acra dress was quite simple, I knew I needed a vintage looking hair accessory but didn’t want to spend a fortune. I found this one online, with change from £100 from Glitzy Secrets. I eased it over a softly curled half up/down do.
For my make-up, a beat-the-heat base was essential. I kept the focus up at eye level
with subtly smoky grey lids lined by black kohl and false lashes.”

5 years ago : PimmsoclockpetraI love her eye makeup – very dolce vita. Surely those lashes can’t be real?
